BIRTH ANNIVERARY OF LOKMAYA BAL GANGADKAR TILAK The Prime Minister Mr Manmohan Singh has released
commemorative coins on Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The coins were released
in New Delhi on 23rd June 2007. Coins are on mark 151st Birth Anniv of Tilak. Bal Gangadhar Tilak was a scholar, mathematician,
philosopher, and militant nationalist who helped lay the foundation for
India's independence. He founded and served as president of the Indian
Home Rule League and, in 1916, concluded the Lucknow Pact with Mohammed
Ali Jinnah, which provided for Hindu-Muslim unity in the struggle for
independence. Bal Gangadhar Tilak war ein
Gelehrter, Mathematiker, Philosoph und militanter Nationalist, der
mithalf das Fundament für Indiens Unabhängigkeit
zu legen. Er gründete und diente als Präsident des indischen
